The Companion Animal Surgical Service at the OVC Health Sciences Centre is comprised of four board certified surgeons, four surgical residents and two rotating interns. The service offers a full range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures including the areas of neurosurgery, abdominal and thoracic surgery, cardiovascular and oncologic surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Specialized techniques offered by this service include minimally invasive endoscopic surgery, laser procedures and total hip replacement. This group is also involved in several on-going clinical trials studying various orthopedic and soft tissue procedures, spinal surgery and several projects related to cancer treatment.
