Veterinary Specialist

• Graduate of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, licensed through the College of Veterinarians of Ontario
• Board certified as a specialist in a particular service
• Supervises the medical team including; Residents, Interns, Veterinary Students and Technicians

Resident

• Graduate of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, licensed through the College of Veterinarians of Ontario
• In training to become a board certified specialist
• Supervised by the Faculty or Veterinary Specialist

Intern

• Graduate of a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, licensed through the College of Veterinarians of Ontario
• Receiving in depth training in Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Anesthesiology and Emergency and Critical Care.
• Supervised by the Veterinary Specialist
• Triages and performs the initial exam for emergency and out of hours cases

Veterinary Student

• Completing a final year in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program which requires rotations through different hospital services
• Closely supervised by the entire medical team
• Participates in each case for the service from admission to discharge to follow up

Veterinary Technician

• Graduate of a Veterinary Technician program
• Works closely with the entire Medical team
• Provides in depth nursing care on patients throughout the hospital.
• Provides functional guidance to DVM students in the technical and theoretical aspects of veterinary nursing
• May have specialized training in their particular service area.

Client Services Staff

• A customer oriented team that provides a positive client experience from the first to the last point of contact at OVC.

Animal Care Attendants

• Animal Care Attendants provide around the clock care for your pet.
• They will ensure your pet has a clean/dry cage, walked frequently and fed an appropriate diet.
• Works very closely with the Registered Veterinary Technicians.
